This watch represents a particularly unique approach to the great diver's legacy by specifically remembering his indomitable research vessel, the Calypso, an ex-Royal Navy minesweeper that served as his base of operations from 1950 until 1996, a year before he died. The watch shows the ship in an engraving on the caseback, but more interesting is the tiny wooden disc set into the metal alongside it—a small fragment from the Calypso itself.
